Rome: City of Cards is a video game that combines political simulation, through card mechanics, and city–building elements, set in the late Roman Republic. The player takes on the role of a freedman administrator tasked with managing the city of Rome. The game revolves around “winning” debates in the Senate, managing to get funding for and implement one’s proposals.
Open Lab is an independent studio producing applied and commercial games. It has been active in the gaming sector since 2014, with original, innovative, and cross-media productions. I have produced over 30 applied games (museums, training, research, promotion) and three commercial games (2019-2025): Football Drama, Roller Drama, and Becoming Saint.
