The Bologna Game Farm project aims to foster the growth of new professional skills and the development of video game products in Emilia-Romagna and nationwide; to affirm the sector’s significance as a cultural factor and a driver of economic growth for the regional and national production systems; and to promote collaboration between the video game industry, other productive sectors across the country, and other stakeholders in the regional innovation ecosystem.

As part of the Bologna Game Farm project, the winners of the calls for proposals, in addition to receiving a non-repayable grant in the form of expense reimbursements, are supported through guidance programs, mentorship opportunities, and technical support for participation in national and international industry trade shows.

To this end, the Culture and Creativity Department needs to contract support services for the beneficiaries of the “Bologna Game Farm” project regarding the following activities:

– support in evaluating the implementation methods for the winning projects, through the provision of technical experts with proven experience;

– development of a program for support, guidance, and the organization of mentorship to be carried out during public events;

– technical support for the teams’ participation in national and international trade shows, including reimbursement of travel expenses and other related costs;

– graphic design and, if necessary, printing of communication materials for Bologna Game Farm’s activities;

– management of the Bologna Game Farm website and other support services.

The Sector therefore requires the support of a highly qualified entity committed to giving the video game sector a shared identity and voice. For this reason, it intends to conduct a market survey aimed at identifying trade associations active in the video game industry in Italy, with a membership base representative of the sector at the national level, and whose objectives include:

  • the creation of a sustainable ecosystem for the business development of startups and small and medium-sized enterprises;
  • the promotion and dissemination of video game culture through the organization of various events and initiatives throughout the country;
  • the active promotion of responsible video game use and gender equality.

At this purpose, a public call has been published to solicit expressions of interest for a potential request for proposals, via the MEPA Consip portal, for the direct award of support and acceleration services to the beneficiaries of the “Bologna Game Farm” project.
